        What are nicotine salts?

        Although not as common as the freebase nicotine found in most vape eliquid juices there is also nicotine salts.

        Nicotine salts or Nic salt based vape juice is primarily used in ciga-like devices or other closed system devices but it is becoming more and more common with other vape devices too.

        Nicotine salts are dissolved into a base of vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol just like other free base liquids. It absorbs into your bloodstream much more quickly than freebase nicotine. Although it absorbs faster it does not absorb as efficiently or stay in your bloodstream as long. Because of this a much higher milligram per milliliter concentration of nicotine must be used to achieve the same level of absorption that takes place with freebase nicotine. One of the things that makes the nicotine salts absorbed more quickly is the benzoic acid that's added to it in addition to making it easier for your body to absorb it also mellows out the harshness of vaporized nicotine considerably. It also delivers a rush of nicotine to your bloodstream in a way that's more comparable to cigarettes. Nicotine salts affect you much more immediately and intensely and it's recommended that you use extra caution when using nic salts.
